The largest city on the Eastern Shore, Daphne has a quaint downtown area reminiscent of days gone by, with large brick estates and towering Live Oak trees, aptly named Olde Towne Daphne. The community is bursting with public recreational facilities for baseball, soccer, basketball, and even dogs! Three Bayfront parks with piers and trails, May Day Park, Bayfront Park and Village Point Park, make it easy to spend a day by the water. Area schools are touted some of the best in the area and are run by the Baldwin County Public School System and supported by SEEDS, Daphne’s Education Foundation. The history of Daphne goes back to the War of 1812 when it is said that General Andrew Jackson rallied his troops here for the attack on New Orleans. Read more about Daphne here.
